You read it right my topic for today is hair; yes hair is poverty case study.
What makes me write about this topic is from a friend of mine.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but what if you have a bad hair day.
You will not be beautiful. :)
Hair is a multimillion dollar enterprise.
It's not urgent to become beautiful, it's a luxury.
To maintain a beautiful hair you need the following;
Hair cutter
Comb
gel
Shampoo
Conditioner
Those are the basics but there's more.
Rebonding
Relax
Curl
Hair color
And many more, these things are needed to maintain a good looking hair.
In the Philippines mostly in the city, you will find salons, parlors and barber shops. Just to name a few.
It's an awesome enterprise.
I have not seen so many parlors in my life, well I seen them every time I
went to market and to malls, but I just realist how BIG the hair product industry when I include it in my case study.
Think about it:
A family of four persons will consume P10 - a day just for shampoo. It's around P300 - per month. But it does not stop there.
You also need conditioner with the shampoo and soap for the body.
Next you'll need the basics under arm lotion, gel and baby powder.
This things is not really necessary, you can do away with this items. Just don't mind the person besides you :)
For a country that is poor, the hair industries are becoming richer and richer surely they have a place in our lives… and they will prosper.
On the lighter side:
Study shows that not everyone uses shampoo when taking a bath.
Yes, it's true … how true?
Well, not everyone has hair. :)
